Laptop battles are the latest craze around the world for new events and showmanship in electronic music.
Each performer has 3/5 minutes to perform a live arrangement which is set against another competitor (this varies from country to country). Through the crowd’s reaction, technicality and general performance, the judges decide who the goes through to the next round.
So like a football tournament we go through the night until we get to the final. Prizes and will be rewarded to the winners and runners up. It will be co-hosted by a DJ & MC to keep the crowd entertained and there will also be an afterparty once the competition has finished.
Each performance can use ONE laptop, ONE external soundcard, ONE midi controller/keyboard and all equipment must fit in a 1m2 area. There is a maximum of two people in one performance.
1st Round: 2 x 2 mins each producer Semi-Final: 2 x 3 mins each producer The Final: 2 x 5 mins each producer There will be a 10 minute gap in-between rounds for judging, background music from the DJ and MC entertainment
**The Finalist will go through to a NATIONAL competition somewhere in Germany later in 2009/10**

Du hast drei Minuten, um dein „qwertz“ auszureizen, die Jury zu überzeugen und das Publikum mit deiner live gespielten Musik zum Kochen zu bringen.
Im KO-System treten in zufälliger Reihenfolge die Kontrahenten zur Battle an – 3 Minuten später – die Jury entscheidet, wer in die nächste Runde kommt.
